Dive into dinosaurs with this Mesozoic Era Encyclopedia Scavenger Hunt + BONUS Scavenger Hunt! These activities are to be used with the books: My Encyclopedia of Very Important Dinosaurs and Dino Dana: Dino Field Guide, Volume 1. You will find links to the texts below.
This scavenger hunt is designed to make learning to use an encyclopedia more fun! Kiddos will have a blast searching through the encyclopedia to find six different dinos and answer questions about each one. They will also get practice with locating and using the Table of Contents and Index, both excellent resources within a book.
Each vibrantly colored page has three different dinos listed along with how to pronounce their names. Kids will be searching to answer the questions below for each dino.
- What page number can the dino be found?
- What type of eater was the dino: omnivore, herbivore, or carnivore?
- In what time period did the dino exist?
- Did the dino live on land, in the sea, or fly?
For added fun, there is also a BONUS Scavenger Hunt where kids will search to see if the dinosaurs in the Encyclopedia Scavenger Hunt are also inside the Dino Dana: Dino Field Guide, Volume 1!
